[Lin Xiangru] 战国时赵国大臣。原为宦官门客。赵惠文王时,得楚国珍宝和氏璧。秦昭王得知愿以十五城代价换之。他奉命带璧入秦,当廷力争,使原璧归赵。赵惠文王二十年(公元前279年),随赵王到渑池(今属河南)与秦王相会,面对强秦维护了赵国的尊严。因功任为上卿。位在赵国名将廉颇之上。廉颇不满,扬言要污辱他。相如以国为重,忍让谦逊。廉颇十分惭愧,登门负荆请罪,两人成为至交,传为美谈

国王经常和蔺相如谈论天下大事，商量对策。廉颇因此很不服气，总想找机会报复蔺相如。
The king often discusses state affairs with Lin Xiangru to make important decisions . So Lian Po isn 't happy about it , always looking for opportunities to take challenge Lin Xiangru .

这一天，廉颇的马车在街上与蔺相如的马车相遇。车夫，把马车停在巷边，给老将军让路。
One day , Lian Po in his carriage meets Lin Xiangru also in a carriage on the street . Driver , pull the carriage by the roadside to give way to the general !

蔺相如气愤得连头发都竖了起来，向上冲着帽子。
Lin was angry , and his hair stood up so stiffly on his head that it lifted up his hat .

蔺相如和赵括的母亲（当时她丈夫已去世）都上书劝告赵王改变主意，但赵王不听。
Ling Xiangru and Zhao Kuo 's mother ( whose husband had died that time ) both presented a memorial to persuade the king to change his ideas but in vain .

So Zhao She 's wife , after hearing of Zhao Kuo ; s appointment as general , went up to the King of Zhao and tried to persuade him not to let Zhao Kuo command an army , along with the minister , Lin Xiangru .
