This study used polymerase chain reaction and direct sequencing method to infer the taxonomic relationship between Golden Pheasant ( Chrysolophus pictus ) and Lady Amherst 's Pheasant ( C.amherstiae ) . A total of 468 nucleotides of the mitochondrial DNA control-region gene were sequenced .
